At Acadia Family Center, we believe in harm reduction when it comes to substance abuse treatment. We try to “meet people where they’re at” and help them cut back on their drug and alcohol use, if they are not yet ready, or able, to embrace abstinence at this time. However, there may be times when complete abstinence is immediately necessary due to health, relationships, job pressures, or legal reasons and we have expertise in supporting clients with that decision as well.
In addition to services that specifically target substance abuse issues, the Acadia Family Center offers a wide range of programs to help people achieve physical and emotional health and well-being, including:
Acadia Family Center is committed to treating all those who seek our help. We do not turn away clients due to an inability to pay.
Substance abuse and mental health counseling are covered by most insurance companies, and we are participating providers for most major insurance carriers like MaineCare, Anthem Blue Cross, Aetna, and Cigna. Co-pays and deductibles may apply, and most insurance companies require pre-authorization for our services. Call your carrier for information.
We cannot yet accept Medicare, but hope to soon. In the meantime, we can refer you to other providers in the area who do.
For clients who do not have insurance or are underinsured, we are able to offer a sliding fee scale due to generous support from the Sam Hamill Memorial Treatment Scholarship Fund. For qualified clients, the amount you owe will be based on your income and number of dependents (proof of income is required). Please contact Jennifer Lincoln for more information and to discuss what documents to bring to your first appointment.
