Acadia Family Center has two special funds established by loving families in memory of two young men who lost their battles with addiction. These restricted legacy endowment funds were created to help other young people struggling with substance abuse and addiction find their way to a healthier life.

Sam Hamill III Memorial Treatment Scholarship Fund

Established in memory of Sam Hamill III, this fund directly benefits families and individuals who can’t afford to pay for treatment services they need. We are grateful to the Hamill family for creating this fund so that anyone who comes to us for help can receive services, regardless of ability to pay. Your gift to this fund will give the gift of recovery to those who receive treatment scholarships at Acadia Family Center each year.

Nathan Bright Keegan Memorial Education Fund

Established in memory of Nathan Bright Keegan, this fund directly benefits children and teenagers through the Resiliency Initiative, an island-wide effort to decrease substance abuse and related mental health disorders by identifying and developing our strengths as individuals and as a community. We are grateful to the Keegan family who created this fund to help our island youth remain strong and healthy in the face of adversity. Your gift will help give our young people the tools they need to navigate the difficult years of adolescence.
