Lending Library
In 1980 M.D.I. Alcohol & Drug Abuse Group, Inc. founded the Harriet Suydam Gibney Memorial Library at the Chemical Dependency Office at MDI Hospital. In 1989 a second branch of this library was founded, and is housed at the Acadia Family Center in Southwest Harbor. With over 700 titles, it is unequalled in other small community agencies. The library is available to clients, clinicians and the general public year-round. There is also a substantial reference library for treatment professionals. We continue to purchase books, audio and video on topics such as:
